The Province: B.C. pet-lovers open their arms to U.S. death-row dogs

You’ll be excused if you’re among those whimpering and slobbering at a mass adoption event for 100 American death-row dogs in Vancouver this fall.

It’ll be an emotional afternoon for both human and beast on Nov. 7, when pilots from the Wings of Rescue charity fly the lucky pooches into YVR’s south terminal to meet their new families, said Susan Patterson, founder of Vancouver-based Thank Dog I Am Out Rescue Society (TDIAO), which is organizing the event.
